GPUs suited for 4K video editing

This list includes GPUs suited for 4K video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve Studio, and Adobe After Effects.

GeForce RTX 3060 12GB is used as the minimum baseline model for 4K video editing. Models with less than 8 GB of VRAM are excluded regardless of score, as that is not enough for 4K footage.

This evaluation assumes the system has a CPU, memory, and storage configuration that is sufficient for the task.

What to Check Beyond the Score

  • In general, newer GPUs carry newer hardware encoders, which helps exports and preview smoothness even at the same score.
  • If you stack effects heavily, more VRAM means more stability.
  • Laptop/Mobile variants of the same name typically run 10–20% slower depending on their power limits.
